Freshman Merit Scholarships - Domestic Freshmen

Apply for admission today!

Merit Scholarships are awarded to students based on academic performance. Academic performance indicators used to assess Merit Awards include a combination of ACT and / or SAT scores, plus GPA. All accepted applicants are reviewed by the scholarship review committee. Merit Awards have a range of $3,000 - $16,000 / year.

Rewarding Scholarship

Award Levels

  • Presidential  $16,000
  • Trustee $15,000
  • Provost $14,000
  • Academic Achievement $3,000

Grade/Score Improvement

Kettering uses the cumulative GPA or a recomputed GPA (math, lab science, English only), whichever is higher. The highest subject matter scores on the ACT or SAT are calculated to award the merit scholarship. Kettering does not use the writing score on either the ACT or the SAT. Also, if your grades or ACT/SAT scores improve, Kettering reevaluates and adjusts your scholarship accordingly. All test scores and grades must be received by March 11, 2016.

We strongly encourage all students to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for any need-based aid for which they qualify beyond the amount of the merit award.  Visit our Net-Price Calculator to determine your potential award qualifications.
