Undergraduate Retention and Graduation Rates

Retention Rates

Retention rate is the percentage of a school’s first-time, first year undergraduate students who continue at the school the next year. We count students who enroll full-time in the summer and fall terms and return the following year.

Entering Year Number Enrolled % Enrolled 2nd Year
2021 305 87.2
2022 294 92.5

Note that 2nd year indicates the student is enrolled, but does not mean they have progressed to the next class level (i.e., students who are enrolled during their 2nd year may still be freshmen).

Graduation Rates

Graduation rate is the percentage of a school's first-time, first-year undergraduate students who complete their program within 150% of the published time for the program, as described by the U.S. Department of Education. Kettering University’s published time to graduation is 4.5 years. Thus, time to graduation is 6.75 years [150% x 4.5 years]. This data is updated annually soon after the end of each academic year [June 30].

Year Number Enrolled % Graduated by 4th Year % Graduated by 5th Year
