Important Dates
Applying for Aid
October 1
FAFSA Opens
To be considered for federal, state and institutional grants, federal work study and federal loans, you should complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are a Michigan resident, your FAFSA must be received by March 1 in order to be considered for State of Michigan grants.
Kettering University Scholarships Open
Applications for scholarships offered by the University open.
December
Kettering Endowed Scholarships for Admitted Incoming Students Open
Endowment Scholarship applications open. Applications are completed in Scholarship Universe.
March 1
FAFSA Completion for State of Michigan Grants
A completed FAFSA must be received in order to be considered for State of Michigan grants.
Kettering University Scholarships Deadline
Applications for the scholarships offered by the University close.
April
Kettering Endowed Scholarships for Returning Students (Upperclassmen) Open
Applications are completed in Scholarship Universe.
Federal Parent PLUS Loans Open
The Federal Parent PLUS Loan application becomes available.
Private Loan Applications Open for Admitted Incoming A Section Students
Begin the private loan application process, if applicable, for A-section (students starting in July).

Private Loan Applications Open for Admitted Incoming B Section Students
Begin the private loan application process, if applicable, for B-section (students starting in October).
Receiving Aid

Notification of Financial Aid Offers to Admitted Incoming Students
Award letters are mailed and available electronically. The aid offers include all aid available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships.
February
Notification of Financial Aid Offers to Returning Students
Award offers are available in Student Banner Self Service. Notifications are also emailed to students.
May
Scholarship Notifications to Returning Students
Scholarship award notifications are sent via ????.

Offers for federally funded student loans must be accepted to move forward with loans.
Loan Entrance Counseling for Admitted Incoming A-Section Students
First-time borrowers must complete entrance counseling and the Master Promissory Note session (available online at https://studentaid.gov/).
