I am serving on the Alumni Board as I am heavily engaged in the Kettering co-op program at Magna Exteriors. This allowed me to re-connect with the school, and it serves as a great connection to Recruiting Committee, which I chair.

I serve on the board because I believe the Kettering/GMI alumni network is one of the most elite networking groups in the world and I hope to advance the status of Kettering alumni everywhere. I also serve on the board because I want to give back to an institution that has given me so much.

I joined the board because I want to contribute to the growth and success of Kettering University. Our Alma Mater is an incredible institution that cultivates its students into tomorrow's leaders. As alumni, we can bring novel perspectives that will further Kettering's students success in the University and once they graduate

As an alumni to multiple institutions, I have found it challenging to become engaged, to be a part of, to contribute. Considering all Kettering University has provided me, this is a small commitment to try to not only give back to the school but my fellow alumni.

Kettering alumni are Resourceful Effective Accomplished Leaders (REAL). We were built to be REAL. I joined the board to help tell that story and as a way to give back

Email Michelle

Denver, Colorado

I joined the alumni board because I wanted to spread the word about Kettering University and the impressive achievements of our alumni outside of Michigan. Out of sheer curiosity, one of the first things I did when I relocated to Colorado about a year ago was to look for fellow alumni. It was surprising how many alumni had made their way to Colorado. What was not surprising was the level of success they had each achieved at various stages of their careers. I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of Kettering University and its alumni.

I wanted to serve on Kettering's Alumni Board because I have a deep interest in serving my community. Moreover, I enjoyed going to a small, close-knit school where the professors and staff seemed to be genuinely interested in the success of their students, and I wanted to give back to the university.

The Alumni Board is a powerful network. With a world more connected then any before, we need competent and capable engineers, scientist, and business people to lead. The Alumni Board encourages and fosters Kettering Students and Alumni use the skills they have cultivated to make meaningful connections. I want to encourage that development.

I joined the Alumni Board to assist in recruiting future alumni. In industry, there is an acute shortage of engineers today, and it is projected to get worse. Kettering graduates highly qualified engineers with strong experience and I wanted to help bring these students to Kettering both to help grow Kettering and help solve the engineer shortage.

Kettering University students and alumni are among the best of the best in the world. A Flint-based, international-outreaching institution that prepares leaders to address the challenging and most complex issues in both industry and society is a global treasure. As a 2011 Civic Achievement Alumni Award Winner it is my distinct honor and responsibility to contribute to this board, its mission, and the current generation of Kettering/GMI Bulldogs.

I wanted to serve on the alumni board so that I could help extend the reach of our university to California and the Bay Area. I also want to help strengthen our university by further engaging our west coast alumni network to assist in recruiting new students & companies to our innovative co-op program.

Windsor, Canada

I strongly believe in the uniqueness of the KU experience. The university has played a crucial role in my development beginning my junior year in high school, having participated in the AIM pre-college summer program in 2007. Consequently, I am always seeking ways of giving back and positively bolstering the KU experience. I see the initiatives and activities of the KGMI Alumni board of directors as an excellent way of doing so.
