New 'T-Space' allows Kettering University students space to "think, tinker, thrive:" Thus, with the guidance of Dr. Massoud Tavakoli, professor of Mechanical Engineering and director of the University's Innovation to Entrepreneurship Across the University (i2e-AU) initiative, they started building on President Robert K. McMahan’s vision for collaborative spaces on campus with a student-driven re-construction project on the second floor of the C.S. Mott Building to create a space where students can “think, tinker, and thrive” with their personal and school projects and hobbies. The space is affectionately nicknamed the “T-Space.” Read more.

Kettering University i2e curriculum encourages 'problem-finding' as well as problem-solving: Dr. Massoud Tavakoli, professor of Mechanical Engineering and director if the Innovation to Entrepreneurship Across the University (i2e AU) program, wants to challenge Kettering University students to think differently. While complimenting the ability of Kettering students to solve problems, he wants them to consider the other end of the spectrum by becoming “problem finders” which will lead to opportunities for innovation. Kettering University president, provost and alumni participate in entrepreneurship roundtable: President Robert K. McMahan moderated an entrepreneurship roundtable with Dr. James Zhang, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, and eight prominent Kettering University alumni to discuss the current and future relationship between higher education and entrepreneurship on Dec. 3. The topic was spurred by the opening of the “T-Space” in the C.S. Mott Building. Read more.

Students awarded at international Model United Nations conference: For a span four days from November 22-25, a group of Kettering University students weren’t only representing the yellow and blue of the Bulldogs. Instead they opted to add the white green and red of Bulgaria and were honored by their peers for their efforts at the American Model United Nations International Collegiate Conference in Chicago. Kettering University students help with traffic study at Hurley Medical Center: Christopher LaFayette came to Kettering University in search of a practical education in both the classroom and in his co-op experience. So when Hurley Medical Center approached Kettering University to conduct a parking study, LaFayette and his classmates were elated to take on the challenge. Read more.

Family experience inspires student’s support of ‘Wigs for Kids:’ The Mechanical Engineering major recently took it upon herself to start a fundraising campaign and donate 14 inches of her hair to Wigs For Kids, a non-profit organization that gives wigs to children who have lost their hair due to medical issues or conditions. She was inspired to raise funds and donate her hair during her second term at Kettering when she found out her mom had to have brain surgery, and as a result, had to shave part of her head.
