Kai "Ray" Lum

While studying at GMI in 1972,  Lum recognized a need to support the growing population of Chinese immigrants in the greater Flint community. Along with several others, he co-founded the Chinese Association, and in 1978 the group became an incorporated non-profit organization. Lum continued to serve in numerous leadership roles over the past 40+ years.The organization hosts social and cultural events celebrating Chinese heritage, supports a scholarship, and collects donations for other organizations in the U.S. and China.
