Dr. Das has expertise and actively doing research in both computer modeling and experimental performance evaluation of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Technology and Renewable Energy Systems; Lithium Ion/Air Battery Development and Deployment, Advanced Hybrid Powertrain Integration Systems with Fuel Cells and Battery/Ultra-capacitors for Transportation and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Applications; Alternative Fuels Reforming process and Integration; Development of Advanced Functional Materials for Energy Applications; Multiphase Flow, Heat and Mass Transfer in Thermo-fluids; Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis of Turbulent and Complex Fluids; and Phase Separation Dynamics in Multiphase Polymer-Liquid Crystalline Composite Materials.

Dr. Das has taught at Kettering since 2006 and finds Kettering students to be very focused, committed, and mature compared to students at other institutions. He came to Kettering to teach because of the students' active learning and eagerness to become knowledgeable about the subject matter. Das likes their curiosity, passion, and drive to succeed. He enjoys seeing what students are learning in the classroom and that they are able to apply the knowledge they gain in real-world engineering applications through hands-on co-op experiential learning.

When not teaching or engaged in fundamental research activities within his research group, Dr. Das enjoys traveling, international cultural experiences, badminton, tennis, camping, and fishing.
