Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science

Dr. Frechette-Roberts earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering with minors in Materials Science and Chemistry from Kettering University in 2019. For her co-op, she worked in a metallurgical lab for an automotive supplier and completed her co-op sponsored undergraduate thesis evaluating high tensile spring steel. She also completed an undergraduate research project on collection plate designs for electrospinning nitrocellulose.

Dr. Frechette-Roberts went on to earn her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Michigan State University in 2026. Here, she studied nitrogen related defects in single crystal diamond for advancing quantum sensing applications. While at Michigan State University, she worked as a teaching assistant and developed two undergraduate engineering electives in quantum technology. 

Dr. Frechette-Roberts returned to Kettering University as an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science.

My favorite part about being a faculty member at Kettering is that I am back where it all started for me. I look forward to supporting students achieve their academic and professional goals just as the Kettering faculty that I learned from did for me.
