Lecturer of Mathematics

Samantha Rosati is a mathematics educator with a passion for helping students develop both mathematical understanding and effective learning strategies. A lifelong resident of Michigan’s Thumb region, she discovered her interest in mathematics in eighth grade and knew by high school that she wanted to pursue a career in teaching.

Samantha’s teaching philosophy is shaped by her own experiences as a learner. Throughout her education, Julie learned firsthand the importance of adapting how she learns and developing self-regulation strategies. Those experiences continue to shape her approach to teaching. She strives to help students understand not only the mathematics they are learning but also how they can become more effective and confident learners.

Her teaching experience spans a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and levels of mathematical preparation, from young learners to adult students in their 50s and beyond. Her teaching experience spans topics from foundational number sense to discrete mathematics, giving her the opportunity to meet students at many different points in their mathematical journeys.

My favorite thing about being a faculty member at Kettering is my department. I've grown close to them in a short amount of time. I also like how friendly and helpful everyone is. There are so many people that I have never met who know who I am. You don't really get that anywhere else.

Reading, backpacking, and video games.
