Dr. Ioannatos’ research interests include currency unions, economic growth under a single currency, economic and monetary integration, debt sustainability, foreign direct investment, natural (quasi) experiments, difference-in-differences methodology, panel data analysis, and unobserved heterogeneity in censored regression.
Dr. Ioannatos’ teaching philosophy encourages student engagement in class through dialogue and emphasizes the practical application of theory, providing a discussion of current events and their relevance to the course material.
