Kettering University Joins Michigan International Speedway as Trackside Sponsor
Kettering University is proud to announce its trackside sponsorship of Michigan International Speedway (MIS), aligning two Michigan powerhouses with a shared focus on mobility, innovation, precision and results.
As part of the sponsorship, Kettering University’s "For the Driven" brand message and identity will be in the fast lane at MIS through the 2026 race season. Branding along the track wall gives Kettering high-visibility placement throughout a full calendar of events, including MIS’s signature NASCAR Cup Series race weekend.
Audiences can see the University’s presence at major events, including:
- Nite Lites Holiday Display — November 21, 2025 – January 4, 2026
- Track and Toy Drive — December 6, 2025
- SAE International Collegiate Design Series — May 13–16 and June 16–20, 2026
- NASCAR Cup Series Weekend — June 5–7, 2026
- 11th Annual Nite Lites Christmas 5K — November 15, 2026
This mix of high-profile racing, academia, community and engineering events ensures that Kettering’s message reaches everyone from future mobility leaders to families, fans and prospective students.
“This collaboration is more than brand visibility—it reflects Kettering’s legacy and mobility focus,” said Jennifer Umberger, Vice President for University Marketing and Communications at Kettering University. “It’s an opportunity to connect with students who share that drive—to design, test and lead the innovations shaping how the world moves. The racetrack is just one more proving ground for that pursuit.”
Kettering’s 50/50 academic and Co-op model immerses students in industry from the start of their first year. With more than 570 corporate partners, spanning automotive and advanced manufacturing to tech and automation, and on-campus facilities like the GM Mobility Research Center, students don’t just prepare for careers—they engineer them.
From building autonomous vehicles to earning patents before graduation, Kettering students are constantly accelerating what’s next. This partnership with MIS offers another way to connect passion with performance—for students who are built for speed, and built for more.
