Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering

Dr. Farnaz Ghazi-Nezami is an Associate Professor and Interim Department Head in the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department at Kettering University, where she has been a faculty member since 2014. She earned her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Manufacturing from Wichita State University in 2013. Prior to joining Kettering, she served as an engineering educator in the IME Department at Wichita State University. Her research interests include applied optimization, supply chain and operations management, statistical data analysis, sustainability, and engineering education. Her research has been widely disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, national and international conferences, contributing to advancements in her field. Dr. Ghazi-Nezami also brings extensive industry experience in both the automotive and service sectors, enhancing her ability to bridge academic concepts with real-world applications. Dr. Ghazi-Nezami is an active member of several professional societies, including the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS), and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). She is also the faculty advisor to the IISE student chapter.
