Professor of Physics

Corneliu Rablau received his BS in Engineering Physics in 1989 from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and his PhD in Physics in 1999 from West Virginia University, where he worked on Photoluminescence Spectroscopy of materials for solid-state lasers. Prior to joining Kettering University, he worked as a Senior Fiber Optics Engineer with JDS Uniphase in San Jose, California, on integrated modules and devices for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) optical fiber communications. In July 2003, he joined Kettering University, where he established the Photonics and Fiber Optics lab. His research interests encompass photonics and fiber optics sensors and devices, magneto-optic properties in ferrofluids, and fluorescent probes for nanothermometers.
