Computer Camps
Python Coding Camp - Day Camp
Check back in December for next year's dates and information.
What do Google, NASA and the CIA all have in common? They all use Python! This programming language is surging in popularity and all programmers will benefit from adding it to their arsenal. The Python Coding Camp gives students the ability to do just that through a series of hands-on programming activities that give them a real feel for coding. This is a great opportunity for students to launch their academic and career readiness in Computer Science.
Grades: 9-12
Cost: $300
Computer Engineering I - Day or Virtual Camp
Check back in December for next year's dates and information.
This camp will expose you to the field of computer engineering by using technology that is currently being used for developing “intelligent” systems. You will learn how consumer electronics, automobiles and robots are made “smart” by using micro-controllers embedded in these products. You will design, build, and program entry-level micro-controller based applications, such as robots. You will learn how to wire sensors to the processor and implement programs to make your robot “intelligent”. You will also write android apps for remotely controlling your robot.
Grades: 9-12
Cost: $250
Intro to Programming I with ROMI/FRC Code
Check back in December for next year's dates and information.
This programming workshop is designed for the absolute beginner. Participants will learn the
fundamentals of Java programming language syntax that can used for various applications. Thesyntax will cover from declaring and using variables to creating and using classes and objects.
Several of the Java programming syntax learned will be demonstrated on a Romi robot. Understanding how Java programming language is applied on a Romi robot will give
participants a leg up when programming an FRC robot which uses the same set of libraries (WPILib) as the Romi robot.
Grades: 9-12
Cost: $75
Computer Engineering II - Day or Virtual Camp
Check back in December for next year's dates and information.
Students will explore the field of computer engineering by using technology that is currently being used for developing intelligent systems. Embedded computers are found at the core of such systems. This camp uses low-cost and widely available credit card sized single board computers. Students will learn how to configure and program the single board computer and communicate with various electronic devices such as a webcam, a motor, and robotic sensors. For the final challenge, students will build and program a small-scale autonomous vehicle that is controlled by the single board computer and additional sensors.
Note: This is an intermediate to advanced level program for high school students who have some basic background in introductory level programming or robotics experience. CE I camp is not required for this camp but participants who completed camp I will have the necessary background for CE Camp II.
Grades: 9-12
Cost: $250
VEX Storm the Castle Camp, Virtual Reality - Day Camp

Code and Play: Drive your robot to reach the castle
Coding Competitions: Solve the Castle Crasher Challenge in the fastest time
Be a Robot Knight: Storm the castle and clear the field
Note: No coding experience is required for this camp.
Grades: 6-8
Cost: $25
