Acct 639 | Managerial Accounting
This course focuses on using management accounting information for planning and control. Design, implementation, and the use of planning and control systems to achieve the firm's strategies are emphasized, with a focus on managerial decision-making.

BUSN 659 | International Business
This course provides an overview of business practices in an interdependent, integrated, global economic system. A focus is placed on understanding the opportunities and challenges that businesses must address in the face of globalization, with emphasis on best practices in international business.
MGMT 679 | Leadership
*A student who selects MGMT 679 is NOT eligible to take the Global Leadership Certificate
This course provides a comprehensive examination of different leadership theories and models along with leadership development, with an emphasis on relevant empirical evidence and application of these constructs to case studies that involve leadership and group functioning. The course also introduces the process of decision-making in a variety of leadership settings, including the processes of leading independently or with direct authority. The distinction between leadership and management, the crucial role of leadership when managing groups and teams, and the importance of ethical conduct and persuasion in effective leadership are covered.
MGMT 619 | Project Management**
**A student who selects MGMT 619 is NOT eligible to take the Operations Management Certificate
This course covers managing projects within an organizational context, including the processes related to initiating, planning, executing, controlling, reporting, and closing a project. Concepts such as project integration, scope, time, cost, quality control, and risk management are highlighted. The course also details key concepts of project management, such as identifying project champions, working with user teams, training, and documentation.
FINC 619 | Financial Management
This course gives students an overview of financial management within organizations. The focus is on the theoretical valuation of stocks and bonds and the capital markets in which they are traded. There is also an emphasis on both the use of financial leverage by a firm and working capital management. The purpose is to enable managers to participate fully in financial decision-making.

MGMT 639 | Managing People and Organizations
This course prepares students for management positions in various organizations. Students are introduced to concepts and issues concerning management and leadership of organizational staff. Subjects include technology-related leadership, organizational communication, change management, Lean thinking, human resource issues, decision-making, ethics, and persuasion.
BUSN 689 | Organizational Behavior*
*A student who selects BUSN 689 is NOT eligible to take the Global Leadership Certificate
This course offers a comprehensive examination of organizational behavior theories, including analysis at individual, group, and organizational levels. Individual levels include perception, personality, and motivation. Group levels include decision-making, group dynamics, and team building. Organizational levels include effective communication, empowerment, leadership, diversity, cross-cultural issues, and conflict resolution. Experiential activities provide opportunities for theoretical application and real-world understanding.
MGMT 665 | Strategic Management
This course focuses on strategic investigation, analysis, and planning within organizations. Emphasis is placed on combining analytical and emergent views to produce strategic thinking maps designed to assist leaders in acknowledging the reality of change; questioning current assumptions and activities; collecting and reviewing data relevant to the industry; and facilitating future organizational development.
MRKT 679 | Marketing Management
This course offers students a managerial perspective on how organizations understand and select target markets and then how they attract, retain, and grow customers within those selected markets. The course emphasizes a strategic perspective of how firms create, deliver, and communicate superior customer value for competitive advantage. Students gain an understanding of the analysis, planning, implementation, and control of activities to develop and sustain beneficial exchanges with target buyers.
BUSN 779 | MBA Capstone: Innovation & New Ventures
This capstone course focuses on the formation of a new company or organization based on an innovation in product, service, process, or delivery. Students develop a comprehensive business plan showcasing their understanding of business management concepts. This course requires an integrative approach to produce a business plan applicable to a variety of industries.

Domestic Admissions Requirements
- Undergraduate degree with 3.0 on a 4.0 grading system or the international equivalent (85 overall grade point average on a 100-grade-point scale). A 2.5-2.99 GPA will be considered on a provisional basis.

- Statement of Purpose
- Three Professional Letters of Recommendation (one must be from a supervisor)
- Official transcripts from a regionally accredited U.S. university or an international equivalent
- Up to 8 hours of transfer credits may be available
- No GRE or GMAT is required
International Admissions Requirements
In addition to the Domestic requirements, International requirements also include:
- International students are required to submit educational documentation to an evaluation service such as Educational Perspectives, which is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). This will be at the expense of the student. Kettering University undergraduate students need not submit their Kettering transcripts but are required to submit transcripts from any other university.
- International applicants whose native language is not English and who have not earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), MELAB (offered by University of Michigan), or complete level 112 at an approved ELS Center. Please have official scores sent to Kettering University’s Office of Admissions, Code 1246. Photocopies will not be accepted.
