This minor prepares students to contribute to a wide range of environments, including advanced manufacturing, automation, process improvement, product design, quality control, and Industry 4.0-related systems. By combining hands-on manufacturing knowledge with analytical and design-focused coursework, students develop practical skills for today’s rapidly evolving manufacturing sector.

The Manufacturing Minor provides students with a strong foundation in modern manufacturing processes, materials, design, automation, and quality improvement. Through a carefully designed set of courses, students learn how products are designed, produced, controlled, and continuously improved in industrial settings.

Students build knowledge in materials engineering and select advanced coursework that aligns with their interests and career goals. Elective options include robotics, applied control systems design, design for manufacturing and assembly, additive manufacturing, and quality control.
