I. POLICY STATEMENT
The Kettering University Academic Calendar is determined annually by Kettering University administration in consultation with the Faculty Senate and is based on the period from July 1 through June 30 of the succeeding year. This calendar establishes those days when Kettering University instruction will be held and delineates the various terms, Winter Holiday and Summer recess, and days of no classes, and important academic deadlines, including course and class withdrawal, and the deadline for submission of grades.
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for development of the Academic Calendar, which should always be for the two subsequent academic years. In January annually, the Office of the Registrar reviews the Academic calendar for coming year and develops the academic calendar for year beyond. No later than February 1, the Office of the Registrar submits the new draft Academic Calendar to the Faculty Senate for review and comment. The Faculty Senate will provide their review and comments to the Office of the Provost by March 1. Following review by the Provost, the draft academic calendar is submitted to the President for review and approval prior to the catalog deadline of April 1.
The Office of the Registrar will initiate development of the Academic Calendar for 2013-14 on July 1, 2012. No later than August 1, 2012 the Office of the Registrar will submit the new draft Academic Calendar to the Faculty Senate for review and comment. The Faculty Senate will provide its review and comments to the Office of the Provost by September 1, 2012. All subsequent Academic Calendars will be developed following the time table outlined in Section III.
