Telephone System Operation Policies

  • The Kettering University telephone system is for business use only. Personal calls, other than for emergencies are unauthorized.
  • Long distance calls, especially international calls, which are not related to business, are unauthorized. Long distance calls that originate from any campus telephone that are of a personal nature will be billed to the originator.
  • Call data is recorded for every call made and received from all campus extensions, including all incoming calls routed from the toll free number. This call data is monitored on a daily basis and invoices are sent accordingly.
  • Our system is optimized for standard telephone use and is able to provide service for normal business calls that have an average connect time of around two to three minutes; therefore we ask that modems not be used during the normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
