Master of Science in Engineering Management

The Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) program gives you the business skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to be successful in managing engineering and technical projects and teams. You will gain expertise in general business management and the tools needed to succeed. You are able to focus your learning by selecting your electives in the engineering or science area of your choice.  This program blends topics of traditional business areas with technical coursework in engineering.  Admission is limited to graduates from ABET-accredited engineering programs or Kettering University graduates with majors in areas other than management or business.

  • You must have an engineering or science degree to pursue this program. You may take advantage of the study-abroad, cooperative work assignment, on-campus or distance-learning options associated with this degree.
  • You may start this program in any term – winter, spring summer or fall – for the distance learning option. If you elect to do the study abroad term you will need to begin in the fall term.
  • You do not complete a thesis for this degree.

The distance-learning delivery methods provide flexibility, convenience and a great way to balance your work life, personal life and school life. The uniquely different approach to distance learning means we are more than just on-line. All classes are taught live on campus, captured digitally and sent to you via CD, DVD or video streaming.  You get to "watch" class when it fits into your schedule...so you're in control!

The MSEM program consists of six 4-credit core classes (24 credit hours).  You then select an additional four 4-credit classes (16 credit hours) that allows you to customize your MSEM to suit your professional needs.  There is no thesis requirement for the MSME.
