Why I chose Kettering:
I have always been a hands on learner so I couldn't pass up the opportunity of the co-op program here at Kettering.
The best things about Kettering:
- I'm surrounded by other hardworking and focused students
- My classes are small and the professors are always very engaging
- It's constantly trying to improve its programs and what it offers students
- Greek Life
- Co-op and experiential learning in the classroom
Coolest co-op assignment:
I worked as a product-marketing manager for MTD Products Inc. after they acquired a German company. It was my responsibility to handle everything necessary to bring a new product line over to the United States and integrate it with one of our existing product lines. At the end of the three-month rotation all the logistical work was done and the proposal was made to the executive board. They decided to go forward with the project and now you can you buy the new product line at Troybilt.com under the garden tools section. The best part of the whole project was getting to work with people from all over the world in order to make the project possible, and then to see it through from start to finish was unlike anything you can get from "normal" college job.
Apply for as many scholarships as you can. Take advantage of the great opportunities you will have during college. You will get out of your experience what you put into it.
