Cousins Ron Chema and Mark Chema were both on First Place teams for the 2002 Major Sobey Memorial Golf Outing. Played on two courses, the outing hosted 66 teams this year. Ron's winning Twin Lakes team included Larry Streng '61, of Detroit; Robert Braxton '61, of Romulus, Mich., Mike Farella '61, of Flint, Mich.; and Chema '61, of Hale, Mich. Mark's winning Blackheath team included Fred Sutherland '78, of Brookfield, Conn; John Connor '78, of Davisburg, Mich.; Chema '79 of Grand Blanc, Mich.; and John Corbets '78, of Rochester Hills, Mich. The Blackheath winners have been golfing in the Sobey Outing for 15 years and this is their first time as the First Place winners. "We've finished second many times," said Chema, "but never first. I'm going to put this trophy on my desk."
