Remembering their youth

Alumni from the decade and half decade years returned to campus to remember the good old days and honor their peers.

The Bulldog classes of 1985, 1980, 1975, 1970, 1965, 1960, 1955 and 1950 celebrated their anniversary years at the Kettering/GMI Bulldog Days Reunion Weekend May 21 and 22.

Alumni had a chance to tour new and old facilities, enjoy the Firebirds Car Show, meet up with old friends, attend workshops and seminars and honor fellow alumni at an awards ceremony. Alumni also had an opportunity to meet Dr. Stanley Liberty, incoming Kettering president, at the reception preceding the awards dinner.

The Alumni Association recognized 10 alumni for professional achievement, service and human relations at the Alumni Awards Dinner. These are the highest awards presented by the Alumni Association each year. Awardees are nominated by other alumni for excellence and outstanding service.

The Class of 1955 honored Dr. James E.A. John, Kettering president, with a personalized golf bag for the new set of clubs they heard he bought for his upcoming retirement from the university.
