Kettering's Cooperative Education and Career Services Department will host the Fall National Cooperative Education Employment Fair on campus Nov. 13-15.

This three-day event offers students a unique opportunity to learn more about employers and cooperative education positions that are currently available, said Stacy Galbreath, the cooperative education associate who co-coordinates it.

Kettering's three-day employment fair is intended for unemployed Kettering co-op students and is not open to the public.

Brent Lanterman of Becton Dickinson, who participated in the employment fair in August said, "The fair was a pleasant and rewarding experience. I feel that the opportunity to meet with all of the students face-to-face provides the best method to ensure good student-employer matches."

Galbreath said Kettering expects this year's fair to be very successful in meeting both employer and student needs. As a direct result of August's fair more than 272 interviews were conducted for cooperative education opportunities.

Here's the November schedule:

DAY ONE, NOV. 13 -- Academic Building
Day One of the fair consists of information sessions in the Academic Building from 6-8 p.m. Room assignments will be posted at 3-301 Academic Building. These sessions give students a chance to learn more about employers, what types of positions are available, and how different company co-op programs work.

DAY TWO, NOV. 14 -- International Room, Campus Center
Day Two is the employment fair, which will be in the International Room from 2-6 p.m. Participating companies include: A.J. Rose Manufacturing, Central Intelligence Agency, Emhart Corp., Federal Mogul, General Motors, GenTek, Omron Automotive Electronics, Rayloc, SKD Automotive, Sodexho, Synetics, United Parcel Service and Visteon. Galbreath said she is expecting more companies to register. "This is an important day of the event and an excellent opportunity for students to obtain a more formal interview on day three," Galbreath said.

DAY THREE, NOV. 15 -- International Room, Campus Center Employers will formally interview co-op candidates Thursday, Nov. 15, from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. This event is by invitation only, Galbreath explained. Students who participate in Day Two will be invited to return for one-on-one meetings with potential employers.
