Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed is SAE Fellow

This is a richly deserved honor that recognizes the significance and impact of his many contributions to mobility technology.  Kettering University and its students are truly blessed to have faculty of Dr. El-Sayed’s stature.  ”

Kettering University Mechanical Engineering Professor Mohamed E. M. El-Sayed is one of only 19 engineers and scientists from industry and academia named to the prestigious SAE International status of SAE Fellow.  He will be honored at the SAE 2012 World Congress, April 24-26, in Detroit.

“Being named an SAE fellow is a gratifying validation of my research, teaching and practice efforts,” El-Sayed said.  “Having been selected by my peers for such an honor makes all the hard work and dedication worthwhile. I am grateful, and more than ever committed to serve SAE and the engineering profession.”

SAE Fellow status is the highest grade of membership bestowed by SAE International. It recognizes outstanding engineering and scientific accomplishments by an individual that have resulted in meaningful advances in automotive, aerospace and commercial-vehicle technology. The program, established in 1975, recognizes an average of 20 worldwide recipients for this honor each year.

“I could not be more proud of Mohamed’s selection as an SAE International Fellow,” said Kettering Provost Robert Simpson.  “This is a richly deserved honor that recognizes the significance and impact of his many contributions to mobility technology.  Kettering University and its students are truly blessed to have faculty of Dr. El-Sayed’s stature.”

El-Sayed joins others from the Kettering community to be named an SAE Fellow. Previously named SAE Fellows include Dr. Stephen R. Davis, former Provost and Mechanical Engineering professor, and Dr. James E.A. John, former president of the university, both in 1996. Among alumni, Albert J. Sobey, Class of 1945, was named a Fellow in 1984.
