Smiling faces are the best part of the biggest day of Kettering's year -- spring commencement, which will celebrate 333 graduates Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. in the Connie and Jim John Recreation Center.

Smiling faces are the best part of the biggest day of Kettering's year -- spring commencement, which will celebrate 333 graduates Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. in the Connie and Jim John Recreation Center.

Kettering is rapidly preparing for 269 undergraduates and 64 master's candidates to earn their well-deserved degrees.

Here's an overview:

KETTERING UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT
** Saturday, June 15, 2 p.m. (EDT)
** Connie and Jim John Recreation Center at Kettering University
** Allow about two hours for the ceremony
** No tickets required to attend
** Presiding: Kettering University President James E.A. John
** Free parking available in all Kettering lots, including large lots behind the Academic Building and combined lot behind Thompson Hall and the Recreation Center
** Graduates: 269 undergraduates, 64 graduate degrees
** Expected number of guests: 2,250

Heather M. Lindell, of Oxford, Mich.
Heather Palmer, of Newport, Mich.

** Three honorary degree recipients: (Mr. Deveson and Mr. Washington will offer brief comments. Mr. Miller's degree was presented during special ceremonies in South Carolina in mid-April.)

Ivan A. Deveson '59 of Malvern, Australia; honorary doctor of management; former Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Australia, former national president of the Australian Institute of Management, an international automobile executive.

Omer E. Miller '39 of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; honorary doctor of engineering, retired owner and president of Porta-Soft Company and co-owner of Heather Glens and Possum Trot Golf Courses.

MaliVai Washington of Vedra Beach, Fla., honorary doctor of humane letters; professional tennis player and ESPN sports analyst, who started his career on the courts of General Motors Institute.
