Lambda Chi Alpha

Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, which was founded in 1909, is one of the largest men’s general fraternities in North America with more than 280,000 initiated members and 200 active chapters at colleges and universities.

Lambda Chi Alpha has been very influential in the fraternity world, leading the way to the abolishment of hazing with their new member program and getting rid of pledging all together with the Associate Member program.  As part of Lambda Chi Alpha's True Brother Initiative, Associate Members learn the Seven Core Values forming the foundation of Lambda Chi Alpha’s approach to brotherhood.  These seven values — Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service and Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage, are influenced by the U.S. Army's leader development program.  Associate Members and initiated members are held to the same principles in addition to possessing the same rights and responsibilities as initiated members.

Nationally, Lambda Chi Alpha has many notable alumni, including political figures, war heroes, musicians, and actors.  Some of these members include: Harry S. Truman, Ron Paul, Jimmy Doolittle, Kenny Chesney, Charles Kelley (Lady Antebellum), Paul Harvey, Will Forte, and Chris Klein.

Lambda Chi Alpha Lambda-Epsilon Zeta, the chapter at Kettering/GMI received it's charter May 9, 1964, when the men of the local Gilgal Fraternity wanted to become part of a national organization which had many of the same ideals and principles.  We have members who are involved in campus activities and inter-fraternal organizations such as IFC, Firebirds Club, Outdoors Club, Mud Boggers, Cliff Hangers, Ski/Snowboard Club, and Prep for Success/Discover Kettering.  When brothers are not at class or studying, they can be found playing volleyball, working on their vehicles, playing golf, grilling, or hanging out having a good time.
