The Community Service Office provides all students, faculty and staff with opportunities for philanthropic and volunteer service opportunities to benefit the local and regional communities.

Download the Volunteer Waiver that all volunteers need to fill out and return to Myra Rawls in the Student Life Office. We are partnering with our neighbors to ensure that our community is well taken care of and that we continue to show pride in our area.

Volunteer Opportunities and Events

Friday Night at University Square
August 7 and August 21
5 - 9 p.m.

Friday Nights at University Square is a place making activity that seeks to activate a public space that was under-utilized and turn it into a vibrant space as a way of deterring crime and changing the perception of the neighborhood. Each date will have four food trucks, lawn games, music, free popcorn, and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Volunteers are needed for set-up, operation and tear-down of the popcorn. The lawn games will also need volunteers for set-up, supervision and tear-down. University Avenue Water Park
August 15
noon  - 5 p.m.

University Avenue water park is a demonstration project to illustrate the need for water based recreation in the core of the city. Elements include: a water slide, other water activities, lawn games and free popcorn. Attendees are en encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Volunteers are needed starting at 11:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. for the popcorn, lawn games, water slide and other water activities.
