Our expanded dining options in our new Battenberg Café in the Learning Commons mean you can grab something to go or sit down for a meal with friends from the first floor food cafe. Or grab a cup of our very own Bulldog Blend roasted locally by Great Lakes Coffee in the second floor coffee shop.
Kettering University and Creative Dining Services are partnering to bring you this whole new campus dining experience.
You can choose food from one of the eight stations in the Battenberg Café or one of your favorites from Einstein Bagel Bros. In the evening, you can order personalized pizza at the Café Order Window or from the specialty menu at BJ’s Lounge.

The Zone
We believe that delicious food shouldn't be limited by your diet. That's why The Zone station offers a wide variety of dishes prepared without the top eight allergens (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and soybeans) but are delicious and flavorful like chicken bacon cacciatore, mojo grilled chicken wings and Singapore noodles.
Hearth ‘19
Food should be exciting, flavorful and innovative. The Creative Dining Service chefs use emerging global flavors to create aromatic, handcrafted dishes with flavor profiles from France, India, Greece and Thailand. Signature dishes will be available every day at Hearth ‘19, including the popular Dashi concept — a rice or noodle bowl topped with Asian-inspired beef, sesame tempeh or hickory-smoked chicken with edamame beans, bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms in flavorful broths such as lemongrass chicken or orange miso.
Sobey Deli
The Sobey Deli is your go-to spot for great sandwiches, handcrafted burgers and more!
Named after Kettering founder Albert J. Sobey, the Sobey Deli features fresh-cut meats, assorted cheeses and seasonal toppings to build your own sandwiches. Handcrafted burgers with fries and tater tots also are available.
Trattoria
We're not saying you're never going to want to leave the Trattoria, but…
We are saying that our amazing pizza oven is capable of producing some of the best Italian dishes you've ever had. We're talking baked ziti, tortellini piccata, spicy pepperoni and Margherita pizzas — all of which you can enjoy when the mood strikes you.
The Pastry Place
It’s all about the desserts, so we made sure to have plenty of sweet treats for you to indulge in.
We bake our own, house-made desserts including salted caramel tarts, marshmallow crunch brownies, chocolate chunk cookies and assorted muffins. Gluten-free and allergen-free options also are available, just ask.
Rise and Shine
The Rise and Shine is all about the fresh.
Our daily-made pastries? They're fresh. Our juices? Fresh. Our milks, and fruit, and yogurt parfaits? Fresh. Every time you come in, you can expect to find options that are made with the best ingredients possible so you can start every day fresh!
Terra Verde
The freshest seasonal ingredients are at Terra Verde for you to build your own salads. Chef-inspired features of the day are available, too, along with soups made from scratch. You can enjoy hummus, pickled and roasted veggies, nuts, seeds, mixed leafy greens such as arugula, Boston and buttered lettuce—and more!
Great Lakes Coffee Shop
We've got the coffee you need to fuel your brain.
Whether you're getting ready for a big test or just want to power through some homework, we've got the coffee you need. We offer a variety of blends from Detroit-based Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company, including an exclusive Bulldog Blend. You can also choose from our wide selection of artisan beverages including iced brown sugar oat milk espresso, caramel macchiatos, matcha green teas, chai lattes and iced coffees.
BJ’s Lounge & Grill
We know that you're hungry. We know you want to get your food quickly and easily. That's why we offer our students evening options such as personal pizzas and a rotation of items such as chili, boneless wings, street tacos and smoked pork carnitas nachos.
Einstein Bros. Bagel
Einstein’s is our neighborhood bagel shop where you can get freshly baked bagels, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, coffee and so much more. Stop on in. There’s always a fresh bagel and cup of coffee ready for you.
