Computer Engineering Co-op Employers

A Student on the Job What will I do as a computer engineering co-op student?  It's hard to describe a typical "CE" student's work assignment because computer engineers work in so many industries and in so many locations, not only in the US, but also around the world.  Computer engineering students work in a wide range of industries including the consumer electronics industry, the aerospace industry, research labs, and government agencies.  Computer engineering is very broad and what a student does depends largely on the needs of the company that employs him.   Some design and install computer network equipment such as routers and media servers.  Some develop microcontroller systems for consumer products.  Others write embedded software that can be found in consumer products such as the software that reads the flash card in a digital camera.  Others work for major computer manufacturers.
