Middle School Robotics Camps

9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Daily, In-person Day Camp
Come for the engineering knowledge, stay for the competition! On the first day, we will reveal a challenge that students must solve — hint: it involves a robot — using JAVA and basic tools, such as a hacksaw and drill. At the end of the course, students will compete in a friendly competition with their creations.
Note: Kettering University will supply the robot.

Monday, July 25 - Thursday, July 28, 2022
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Daily, In-person Day Camp
Code and Play: Drive your robot to reach the castle
Coding Competitions: Solve the Castle Crasher Challenge in the fastest time
Be a Robot Knight: Storm the castle and clear the field
Note: No coding experience is required for this camp.

Monday, June 13, 2022
9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - In-person Day Camp
This workshop is designed to teach the absolute beginner how to assemble and program an EV3 robot in a logical, methodical, and step-by-step process. After each concept is covered then each team will write and run a program for the robot to execute a given mission. The programming exercises will reinforce their understanding how to program the EV3 robot. The participants will learn to work collaboratively.
Note: Sensors are not covered in this workshop. Sensors are covered in the in the Lego Robot Assembly & Programming with Sensors 2 workshop.

Thursday, June 16, 2022
9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. - In-person Day Camp
This Workshop is a continuation of the Lego Robot Assembly & Programming Workshop 1. Participants will learn to write and run programs that use light, ultrasonic, touch, and gyro sensors. Participants will write several programs that incorporate single and multiple sensors to execute given robot missions. Participants will learn to work collaboratively and will compete by writing and executing robot programs that accomplishes given missions.

Friday, July 29, 2022
9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. - In-person Day Camp
In this exhilarating camp, students will be challenged to build, modify, and program a claw-bot using VEX IQ components. The camp will culminate in a competition between students as they drive their claw-bots and complete the challenges.
Note: Kettering supplies and keeps the kit and robots.
Grades: 4-8
