Michigan State University-College of Human Medicine (MSU-CHM)

On June 8, 2010, Kettering became the first private university in the state to sign an agreement with MSU's College of Human Medicine assuring two pre-med students entry to medical school.  MSU-CHM's partnership with Kettering University is part of a growing network of collaborations MSU has established with local institutions with a long-term vision for enhancing health care in Flint and Genesee County.

Preference for the Early Assurance Program will be given to Kettering University students interested in caring for underserved. Candidates will complete a program of enriching clinical and service experiences, as well as academic advising directed toward admission to MSU College of Human Medicine. During their junior year, students who excel in Kettering University's PreMed program may apply to the College of Human Medicine and selected students will be assured of admission and begin a relationship with MSU-CHM during their senior year of college. More information on MSU-CHM's Early Assurance Program.

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)

On June 14, 2011, five Kettering premed students were guaranteed entry into Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM).  In addition, LECOM has guaranteed five seats into their School of Pharmacy and five seats into their Dental School.

Students interested in LECOM will have an opportunity to visit the campus two to three years before matriculation which will open doors for mentoring and give students a chance to get familiar with LECOM's facilities, faculty, and academic pathways. LECOM is a private college with its main campus in Erie, Pennsylvania.  The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree program has five different learning pathways including a problem-based learning pathway.  More information on LECOM.
