Student Resources

Students at Kettering University have many opportunities beyond the classroom. One of these is Collegiate DECA. DECA is the professional organization for business students. There are regional and national competitions held by DECA.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. Collegiate DECA is a student driven organization that values competence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork. We prepare students for careers by integrating skills learned in the classroom into real world experiences. Collegiate DECA programs assist in developing academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders. Our students major in a variety of academic programs with a strong focus on business-related fields. Collegiate DECA conferences and other activities give students unique access to internships, scholarships, competition, and professional networking.

"Kettering students do well in collegiate DECA because the competitive events mirror their everyday academic and co-op experiences. The only difference is instead of competing against other Kettering students like they do in those settings, they are competing against students from throughout schools in Michigan and across the nation."- Karen Cayo, DECA Advisor and Kettering University Business Interim Department Head
