Sigma Pi Sigma exists to honor outstanding scholarship in physics; to encourage interest in physics among students at all levels; to promote an attitude of service of its members towards their fellow students, colleagues, and the public; to provide a fellowship of persons who have excelled in physics. The society was founded in 1921, and has some 75,000 historical members. The Kettering University chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma was installed on March 24, 2003. In order to qualify for application to Kettering University Chapter of Sigma Pi Sigma, students must have completed four Physics courses, have a cummulative WAG of 85 or higher, and be in the top third of their class, and be a member of the Society of Physics Students.
