Student OrganizationsAeronautics/Astronautics Club - The club will provide an opportunity for students to learn about, develop and design anything pertaining to aerospace technology. Aerosciences Club - The club provides a place for people to discuss and participate in activities involving all forms of aircraft and rocketry. ALLIES - A support group for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and questioning students and their friends. GLBT staff and others on campus are always invited to attend events and meetings. ALLIES is about support, help, friendship, caring and most valuably knowing someone to turn to. ALLIES meets every Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Good Beans Coffee house in Flint. Anime Club - Join your fellow students as they watch Japanese animation. Aquaneers - Aquaneers is the scuba diving club. They have meetings throughout the term to discuss upcoming events such as their spring dive charter. The club also has pool time in the Recreation Center where participants brush up on their scuba skills when it's too cold outside. Asian American Association - The club promotes an awareness and appreciation of the Asian American experience. Baseball Club - This club is for all students interested in playing organized baseball. Basketball Club - The club practices regularly and frequently plays other local universities. They host tournaments and are annually involved in the Motor City Basketball Tournament (B-Section). Black Unity Congress (BUC) - BUC organizes activities to unify, stimulate, and educate students about African-American awareness and other events. Cliffhangers/Rock Climbing - The objective of this club is to provide students an opportunity to rock climb at an off-campus facility. Cross Country Club - The club runs informally at Kettering's Recreation Center and outdoor track. Dance Club - Learn swing dancing or salsa. No experience or partner required. Fencing Club - Learn the art of fencing. Firebirds - Automotive enthusiasts can participate in a wide range of activities as members of this club. The club concentrates on competitive events, shows, instruction, tools, and facilities. FIRST Robotics Club - The purpose of the club is to be an organization for FIRST Scholarship winners, FIRST alumni and current team mentors. The society's mission is to spread the FIRST message to the Kettering University Campus and the Flint Community. Gaming Society - The Gaming Society holds various matches/tournaments each semester. They play Bridge, Euchre and other card games, role-playing games, board games, Battletech, StarCraft, WarCraft II, and Magic as well as other games. Golf Club - The club visits a driving range frequently and B-section hosts an alumni/student outing every spring which have become extremely successful. The Green Engineering Organization - The Green Engineering Organization is a club on campus dedicated to increasing environmental awareness and conscientious leadership among the students, staff and faculty of Kettering University, while implementing environmentally friendly practices on the campus and its surrounding area. Meetings are held every Wednesday at 12:20 p.m. in the Heritage Room on the 4th floor of the Campus Center building. Grilling Club - The club enjoys grilling many different types of food. Hockey Club - The Hockey Club consists of individuals interested in being active in ice hockey. India Student Association - The India Student Association wishes to introduce the culture and lifestyles of India to students and staff. International Club - The International Club invites you to learn about history, world views, and culture in a fun and comfortable environment. Kagle Mentoring Program - The Kagle Mentoring Program is a student-run organization sponsored by flint native Bob Kagle. They have a total of 5 entities; KFL, KSS, KITE, CREEK, Community Tutoring. Karate Club - The objective of the Karate Club is to promote the Martial Arts. Members who train regularly have the opportunity to join the World Tan Soo Do Association and to test for belts. Kettering Entrepreneur Society - Kettering Entrepreneur Society promotes an entrepreneurial culture at Kettering University based on innovation and social values. The Society offers its membership Networking, Mentoring and Opportunity for developing an entrepreneurial mindset. Lacrosse Club - The purpose of this club is to promote the interest of Kettering University students in developing their ability to play Lacrosse. Laser Tag - A club for students interested in playing laser tag. LEADERS - An organization that works everyday to help mentor and guide the community leaders of tomorrow. Their premeir mentorship program, leadership training initiatives, and on campus presentations are just some of the ways they give back to the Kettering community. Movie Club - The club provides an opportunity for students to get together and watch movies. Mud Boggers/Off-Road Club - An off-road enthusiasts club promoting responsible four-wheeling and participation in trips to various off-road venues. Muslim Student Association - The club promotes an awareness and appreciation of the Muslim experience. Outdoors Club - The Outdoors Club strives to promote outdoor activities, the love of nature, and sportsmanship. Club activities consist primarily of trips such as skiing, rock climbing, horseback riding, white-water rafting, and canoeing trips. Paintball Club - The club provides students the ability to learn about and play paintball. The Physics Club/Society of Physics Students - The Society of Physics Students is a professional association explicitly designed for students. Membership, through collegiate chapters, is open to anyone interested in physics. Ping Pong Club - The club is for those who enjoy ping pong or would like to learn to play. The club meets frequently at the Recreation Center. Pre-Med Student Organization - The organization is for anyone interested in the field of medicine. Religious Organizations - The city of Flint has many local churches and synagogues where students are always welcome.
Reflector - The Reflector is the student-produced Kettering University yearbook. Soccer Club - The purpose of this club is to assist students in developing their ability to play soccer through clinics, scrimmages and sport club matches. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) - SHPE is the leading social-technical organization whose primary function is to enhance and achieve the potential of its members in engineering, math, and science. We will fulfill our mission by increasing educational opportunities, promoting professional and personal growth, and carrying out our social responsibility to be involved in education, business and government issues. SHPE is open to students of all backgrounds. All meetings are held in the SHPE room on the 5th floor of the Campus Center. A section meet every Thursday during lunch. B-section meets every Friday during lunch. Society of Women Engineers B-Section - Kettering's B-Section Society of Women Engineers student chapter strives to promote and support women in engineering through programs and events that encourage professional development, foster interest in engineering among girls, and link collegiate and professional women. Technician - The student-produced Kettering University newspaper. Trap & Skeet Club - The Trap & Skeet Club exists to promote the sport of competitive shooting. WKUF - WKUF is Kettering's low-power FM campus/community radio station with programs by students, staff and community members.WKUF plays a wide variety of music. Check them out at WKUF 94.3. Women's Resource Center (WRC) - The Clara Elizabeth Davidson Women's Resource Center (WRC) serves as the focal point for women students, faculty, and staff at Kettering. Each term students host a variety of seminars for the entire Kettering community. Some are designed to address the particular issues challenging women in engineering and technology; others promote personal well-being and growth. Wrestling Club - The club practices at a local wrestling facility and focuses on skill development, they do not compete. |
