If you are like us at the Scharchburg Archives, you enjoy the cheer and nostalgia that comes with Christmas and the New Year celebrations. We thought it would be an excellent idea to present the General Motors collections that reflect the holiday season. General Motors celebrated the holidays with their employees and customers. Their interest in the holidays show through in the materials exhibited in the slideshow, which are only a small sampling of similar material available at the Scharchburg Archives. You will find 25 items shown in the slideshow, which span from the 1900s through the 1960s and include various General Motors divisions: AC Spark Plug, Buick, Cadillac, Fisher Body, Frigidaire, and General Motors Institute. The materials include sales booklets, sales displays, photographs of holiday parties, and Christmas cards, just to name a few. If you would like to research these collections, or any others, please contact the Scharchburg Archives by phone at (810) 762-9890 or by email at dwhite@kettering.edu. Just click the picture above, sit back, and enjoy this look into General Motors of Holidays Past. |
