Students who are selected for the Endowment receive a wide variety of Leadership training both on and off campus. As part of this training, students are asked to practice their leadership skills by developing a program that gives back to the Kettering community. Also, students are matched with alumni mentors to assist them with one-on-one guidance in their Kettering career as well as their life after Kettering.

Students selected to be LEADERS will participate in the Leadershape program (www.leadershape.org), a weeklong leadership development program, In this nationally recognized program teaches students how to building community, value teamwork, tackle challenges, build vision, bring vision to reality, and live and lead with integrity. As part of the Leadershape program students will pick a project they will develop through their school career. Past projects have focused on improving life on campus and in the Flint community.

During the LEADERS Deese Weekend retreat students will work with Alumni to develop their leadership skills. This annual event builds on the experiences of participants through a series of interactive workshops. The Deese weekend also includes keynote speaker who will share their look on business, leadership and life.
