Uses

Faculty members are highly
encouraged to use the ESEM for educational purposes in their courses.
Faculty wishing to use the microscope must receive
training according to the normal procedure. The same scheduling
procedures for research apply to educational use. User that have not
received training on the ESEM are to be assisted at all times in the
ESEM facilities.

The ESEM is also intended
for use in outreach programs, either for recruiting purposes or for
science and engineering programs. Use of the ESEM for outreach programs
should be negotiated through the Lab Director. Tour groups can arrange
to view the microscope through the window in the laboratory by scheduling
the tour through laboratory support staff.
