May 11-17 1998

May Week, established by our First National President (Dr. Sadie T.M. Alexander)in 1920, is a week long program designed to highlight the importance of community service, academic and professional achievement. In keeping with Soror Alexander's vision, we at the Mu Phi Chapter hold workshops and activities to educate our campuses and local community as a whole.

May Week 1998:

  • Monday: International Awareness & Involvement
    • "Go Global" International Studies Seminar
      Featuring International Students, and Keteering International Offices Reps.

  • Tuesday: Educational Development
    • "Bring Out the Beauty Within" Hair, Face, & Nail Care Seminar
      Featuring professional Cosmotologists from Mary Kay and local salons

  • Wednesday: Economic Development/
    Political Awareness and Involvement
    • "Write Your Own Check" Entrepreneurship Seminar
      Featuring student and local entrepreneurs and information from the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
    • "Speak Now: Let Your Voice be Heard" Political Involvement Discussion
      Student-run discussion of current Issues

  • Thursday: Physical & Mental Health
    • "Put Yo' Body in Check" Minority Health Seminar

  • Friday: First Annual Mu Phi Red Hot Bazaar
    • Games! Raffles! Prizes! Food! & FUN!
