Every year a group of Kettering students designs and builds an off road vehicle for the purpose of racing against other college teams. The competition, sponsored by The Society of Automotive Engineers, challenges its participants to create a car that would be able to perform both on the track and in the marketplace for outdoor recreation vehicles. Some say the reason we engineering students do this is because it gives us a chance to apply what we learn in the classroom to the real world, and that it looks good on a resume. Actually the real reason we do this is that it's a whole lot of fun.
