Portable Media

If you use portable media (floppy disks, zip disks, usb drives or CDs) to carry files, make sure your primary copy is on your hard drive or backed up to another location.  Portable media will stop working when you need it the most.  Data recovery is not often successful.

The disk or usb drive should never be used as your only copy of your documents.  Make sure you always back up the contents regularly to your hard drive.
