Compressing (or zipping) a file using Windows XP

  1. In Windows explorer, navigate to the file you want to compress.
  2. Right-click on this file, highlight "send to" and then click on "compressed folder".
  3. Click on ok and a folder will be created with the compressed file inside.
  4. If more than one file is to be sent to this folder, then repeat or highlight each file first, and then "send to" the "compressed folder".
