From your Kettering phone
- Dial 9898 or press the Msg Center key if your phone is equipped.
- Listen for "Kettering University Voice Mail, Mailbox" At this time, key in mailbox number followed by the # sign.
- Listen for "Password" At this time, key in your password * followed by the # sign.
From outside Kettering
- Dial (810) 762-9898.
- Listen for "Kettering University Voice Mail, Mailbox" At this time key in mailbox number followed by the # sign.
- Listen for "Password" At this time, key in your password * followed by the # sign.
Note: The password is 24 + your extension number until you change it. The first login attempt will trigger a forced reset request.
Mail box set up
After you are logged into the system using the above procedure:
- Key in 8*.
Listen for, "You have started to enter a mailbox command, your choices are: "
Press:
0 For Mailbox Options
1 To change operator assistance number
# To exit
1 To Login
2 To Record Greeting
1 for external, 2 for internal, 3 for temporary
3 To Logoff
4 For Password Change
5 For Distribution List
6 For Go to (will skip directly to which ever message # keyed in)
9 For Personal Verification
2 To hear the name recorded
5 To record a new name
# To stop recording
Retrieve Messages
Login
The system will tell you how many messages you have waiting.
Press:
2 To play messages
Press:
1 to skip back in message
3 to skip forward in message
# to pause, 2 to resume
4 to go to previous message
6 to go to next message
9 To call sender
71 To reply (5 to record, # to stop recording, and 79 to send message)
73 To forward (5 to record, # to stop recording, and 79 to send message)
83 To Exit voice mail
Creating a custom operator (revert number)
- While logged in to Kettering University Voice Mail, press 80.
Voice Prompt: "Mailbox options. To change the operator assistance number, press 1."
- Press 1
Voice Promt: "Operator assistance number, the current number is (reads current number if any)
enter the new operator assistance number followed by number sign. To exit, just press number sign.
- Press # to exit
Remember to change your greeting to alert callers that they have the
option to be connected to someone else in your department by pressing 0.
Notes:
- A red blinking light on your phone indicates that you have messages waiting for you.
- On phones without the red blinking light, you will hear a stutter in the dial tone indicating that you have messages waiting for you.
