ORTN-101 or Learning, Success, and Teamwork is a course that provides critical information on professionalism, teamwork, and personal development for first-year students. Students learn to interact in academic and cooperative work environments successfully. A student and faculty instructor mentor and interact with students providing support and guidance for the students to be fully integrated into Kettering University. Team-based assignments and projects will enhance student transition and acclimation to policies and procedures at Kettering University.
Goals
The end result of this course is to teach all new students, whether first time freshman or transfer students, skills revolving around learning, success, and teamwork.
History
ORTN-101 was first created in 2007 and represents the largest component of the Kettering First Year Experience (FYE). Since that time, it has grown into a resource for all first year students and still remains as a staple of the FYE.
Schedule
ORTN-101 meets once a week for an hour and covers a variety of topics from week to week.
