Notice of Change to Michigan Income Tax Withholding
Effective October 1, 2012, the Michigan individual income tax withholding rate has been reduced from 4.35% to 4.25% and the personal exemption amount has increased from $3,700 to $3,950. If you would like to adjust your current state withholding, please complete the Michigan W-4 and return it to the Payroll office at 5-849, CC (more info).
Direct Deposit and Paychecks
Kettering University was closed December 24, 2012 – January 1, 2013. Checks not picked up from the Student Accounts office by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 were sent to the Kettering mailroom for mailing to home addresses. Make sure we have your current address.
Please note that the full-time faculty and staff pay period ending December 30, 2012 were paid on December 28, 2012. We transfered the funds for employees participating in direct deposit into the employee’s account on December 28, 2012 and mailed checks so those not participating in direct deposit receive them via US mail on or about December 28, 2012.
Please note that Tax Statements are mailed by January 31, including W-2s to those who'd not elected to receive them electronically (for additional information on that option see Policies/Resources - Electronic W2). If you have not received your document by February 7th, you may contact the office below to inquire about your individual statement:

Kettering University Faculty & Staff Campaign Contributions Receipt
If you make gift payments through payroll deduction, your Kettering Form W-2 (Box 14 Other KUCont) serves as your contribution receipt. The Faculty & Staff Campaign contribution amount is authorized when you submit a pledge card for payroll deduction and remains in effect until you either submit a new pledge card or request to terminate the deduction. Kettering does not provide goods or services in whole or in partial consideration for any contributions made by payroll deduction.
2013 Social Security - F.I.C.A.
The 2013 employee contribution will be 6.2% on wages up to and including $113,700.
The 2013 employee contribution remains 1.45% on all wages.
