Eve Vitale, director of philanthropy - corporate and foundation relations, has received the Key Contributor Award from the Society of Women Engineers, Detroit Section. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to SWE-Detroit.
Among her contributions to SWE-Detroit, Vitale expanded locations and outreach for networking lunches, organized the society's first CAbi fundraising event and helped secure Nissan as a host sponsor for the professional development conference.
"Eve has great enthusiasm and makes everyone feel welcome to the events she attends and hosts," said SWE-Detroit President Stacy Lueneburg.
Vitale, a Groveland Twp. resident, has worked at Kettering University for nearly five years. She's also a manufacturing master's student in the department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. Vitale joined the Society of Women Engineers two years ago.
"I became involved with SWE to help young women realize the possibilities in themselves and their opportunities and to network with working engineers," Vitale said. "I'm the SWE counselor for our two student sections and enjoy that role in SWE the most. I've met numerous amazing women and am inspired by their hard work and dedication."
