Study break: students win at softball, 16-9

The Kettering University Connie and Jim John Recreation Centeroffered students, faculty and staff a study break from preparing for exams Wed. Sept. 25, as faculty and staff took on students in a noon softball game.

 

The Kettering University Connie and Jim John Recreation Centeroffered students, faculty and staff a study break from preparing for exams Wed. Sept. 25, as faculty and staff took on students in a noon softball game. More than 50 people stopped by to watch the game, which the student team won 16-9. Participants were treated to a bar-b-cue of hot dogs,hamburgers and soda during the seven-inning game.

The game was on a diamond of the newly dedicated Harris Fields.

 

Mike Schaal, assistant director of Recreational Services,coordinated the game and captained the faculty/staff team. "I believe all the participants and spectators enjoyed themselves and I look forward to making it an annual activity," he said."Social interactions with students, staff and faculty are very positive and Wednesday's game was a great example. Thank you to those who contributed especially the volunteers who cooked!"
