Kettering's pinch-hitter to retire

Oct 24, 2008

His career circled back to his alma mater, but Jim Hamilton `76 was always moving forward.

"It's been a genuine pleasure to work with Jim Hamilton over the past three years,” said Kettering President Stan Liberty.  “He has demonstrated incredible dedication to Kettering and has always unselfishly welcomed new opportunities to contribute to its success.  His broad experience and capabilities and his willingness to apply them whenever asked will be missed.  We wish the very best to Jim and Brenda and look forward to seeing them in Florida at alumni events,” the President added.

His last day on campus will be Nov. 6, after which he and his wife, Brenda, will prepare their Clarkston home for sale.  Then the couple will move to their Sarasota, Fla., home and begin a life focused on church and community activities and a little bit of tennis.  “We’ll travel when we want too. I’ll miss the people of Kettering University,” he said, “you always miss the people.  You never miss the work,” he added with a laugh.
