Kettering University students, faculty and staff can now add funds to I.D. cards online

Previously, this was a manual process where cash or a check had to be paid to a cashier and then processed before it went on a card.”

Kettering University students, faculty and staff can now manage their I.D. card account balances online or via a free mobile app through Kettering eAccounts.

Kettering eAccounts, a service offered through Blackboard, is a web-based and mobile self-service portal that will allow students to add money to B.J. Bucks and faculty and staff to add Kettering Cash to their I.D. cards virtually.

“Previously, this was a manual process where cash or a check had to be paid to a cashier and then processed before it went on a card,” said Viola Sprague, Vice President for Instructional, Administrative and Information Technology. Kettering eAccounts is PCI-compliant certified for secure transaction protection, along with making it much easier for students, faculty and staff to add funds to their cards.

Students now have an electronic option for adding to their dining services accounts.

In addition, students will also have the ability to share their student I.D. number with family, who can deposit funds as guests on the students’ behalf. The web-based platform allows users to see their transaction history, download monthly payments and manage security. The mobile app, which is available for Apple and Android based smart devices, allows users to make deposits with previously entered payments options and view transaction histories.

“Adding Kettering eAccounts allows Kettering University to offer added services to students, faculty and staff,” Sprague said. “The ease of use, security features and convenience of adding funds electronically is also an incentive for more members of the Kettering campus community to take advantage of using Kettering Cash and B.J. Bucks.”

Faculty and staff who use Kettering Cash save 10 percent on all purchases in the Sunrise Room and the C-Store. B.J. Bucks don’t pay sales tax on purchases. For more information about Kettering Cash or B.J. Bucks, visit the Kettering Dining Services page.

The URL has also been added to the Faculty and Staff and Current Students web pages. The app can be downloaded through the App Store on iTunes or the Play Store on Android.
