Kettering is "Best of Show"
Kettering's first-time entry in the Flint Area Advertising Federation ADDY Award competition earned "Best of Show."
A student recruitment flash movie earned Kettering University "Best of Show" status in the Flint Area Advertising Federation (FAAF) ADDY Award competition Friday, Feb. 25. The flash movie "School Daze," produced for Kettering by ABeedle.com as part of their internet student recruitment efforts, received the top honor over 180 other entries. The university also received a Gold Award for "School Daze" and a Silver Award for recruitment postcards.
"To be singled out over 180 other entries, some from national advertising agencies, reinforced that the intended message of the FLASH recruiting movie is powerful," said Julie Ulseth, director of Marketing for Enrollment Management at Kettering. "As competition gets more intense and students more savvy, the more creative and connected our marketing material can be, the better."
The creative team for "School Daze" included Andy Beedle, Hilary Kennard and Chuck Nolde of ABeedle.com. "The School Daze movie represents the best sort of work our firm can be involved in," said Beedle. "When a client like Kettering has the vision and the courage to step outside the normal marketing 'rut' and speak to the target audience in a way that is relevant and fun, it unleashes the potential of a shop like ours for doing leading edge work that is compelling and entertaining. We were delighted to win 'Best in Show', especially with such a competitive field."
The ADDY awards is a project of FAAF to recognize advertisements, public service announcements and other marketing products produced by agencies, marketing departments and print and broadcast media. The Gold Awards recipients will go on to the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) 6th District ADDY Competition, one of 14 regional competitions in the U.S.
