Faculty and students part of National Engineer's Week banquet

The mid-Michigan chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers will host the 2003 National Engineer's Week Annual Banquet Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, Mich.

The mid-Michigan chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers will host the 2003 National Engineer's Week Annual Banquet Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth, Mich.

The keynote speaker for the event is John German of American Honda Motors, who will present "Hybrid-Electric Vehicles: A Real-World Example and Future Market Potential." His talk will cover the success of such hybrid cars as the Honda Insight and Civic as examples of advanced technology vehicles. Additional, German will offer insight into the future of hybrid automotive opportunities, including the marketing advantages and issues associated with this technology.

Participants also have a chance to meet mechanical engineering students and faculty from Saginaw Valley State University and Kettering University. The price of tickets is $12 for students and $25 for society members and their spouses. Tickets include a 6 p.m. social hour with a cash bar, dinner at 6:45 and program at 7:45 at the Bavarian Inn.
